Tantric Lover Game- An Advanced Lovemaking Experience

Many people are curious about eastern sexuality such as the Kama Sutra and Tantra.  They hold an aura of ancient mystery, the exotic and sacred sexuality.  Tantra is not for everyone however.  Tantra is about taking time to create intimacy between partners and letting go of western society’s ultimate goal to climax.

Well, sex without climax can be fun… and ecstatic and empowering and sensual and eventually-with time and practice-multi-orgasmic.  Mainly, Tantra is all about becoming more in tune with your partner and heightening your mental, physical, emotional and spiritual pleasure together.  All this takes time and dedication to practice and you won’t necessarily obtain this from playing a game.  But, the Tantric Lover Game is a good place to begin your exploration.

The Tantric Lovers Game comes in a box with an instruction booklet, game board, Chakra chart, 1 die, two glass playing pieces and 1 egg timer.  The booklet introduces players to the practice of Tantra, explains how to play the game, talks about using your Chakras, as well as how to use breath and movement.

To play the game you need to set aside a whole evening to the pleasures of lovemaking: no phones, or kids, or outside disturbances.  The booklet also suggests playing sensual music, lighting candles, having a scarf/blindfold handy, lighting incense, preparing sensual finger foods, having wine and water handy, as well feathers and sensation toys and turning up the heat.  All great suggestions.  The thing you need most, however, is an open mind and a sense of silly fun.  Some of the things you will be asked to do will seem silly like gazing into each other’s eyes for 5 minutes, acting like an animal, or naming your lover’s genitals.  Other things may make you feel uncomfortable like surrendering or submitting yourself to your lover, doing a striptease, or dominating your lover.  Some things may even turn you off like shrimping (sucking your lover’s toes), anal worship and penetration.  Of course, there is no need to do something you are uncomfortable with, but the whole point is to expand your boundaries and open up to new experiences.

My S/O and I played the game with the Lovers Paintbox set of chocolate body paints (review coming next week!).  I certainly felt strange, vulnerable or silly doing some of the activities.  Staring into someone’s eyes for five minutes (without laughing and being a goof) is challenging.  I also hate feet, so no shrimping for me.  My partner was less open to the experience than I was which also made it more difficult to get into it.  He played the game because I wanted him to and because he knew he’d be getting sex from it.  He kind of missed the point about sex/orgasm not being the ultimate goal.

To truly benefit from the game you’d need to play it frequently, on a weekly basis.  I guess I expected a mind altering, body spasming experience that was going to blow me away on my first try.  That of course didn’t happen.  Nonetheless, I realize this is more my fault in not taking the time to do it, in my rush towards goal-orientated climax and orgasm.

You will not become an expert after your first play at the game, but at least you dipped your toes in the water and got your first taste at Tantric ecstasy.  This game would make a great wedding gift or a gift to your lover to begin exploring intimacy together.
