Liquid Silk Lubricant

Liquid Silk Lubricant is a very popular high-end personal lubricant that is quite original.  First of all it is a hybrid lube, which means while mainly water-based it also contains silicone (Dimethicone, one of several types of silicone oils), so it has some of the best properties of both types of lubes.

What does that mean to you?  Well, unlike many water-based lubes that get sticky as they dry out. Liquid Silk absorbs into the skin like a moisturizer.  In fact, its consistency is exactly like a moisturizer in that it is creamy, and has a thick viscosity, so won’t run or drip.  It comes in a handy pump so you can control how much you use.  Once you apply it and rub it in however, it become very silky and slippery, like a silicone based lube, so is perfect for any type of penetrative sex, including anal.  It is condom compatible and glycerin-free so will not mess up the vagina’s PH or cause a yeast infection.  “LIQUID SILK is also formulated to be bio-static, this means, should it be exposed to any bacteria, yeast infection or fungal spores it will stop them spreading.”—LiquidSilk.com

One downside I have seen other reviewer’s point out, is that it has an acrid taste, so not good for oral sex.  But, I never use lube for oral sex as saliva is usually enough.  The only thing I would worry about with this lube, is unfortunately it does contain parabens.  Parabens can cause allergic reactions, or skin irritations in some people.  I didn’t have this problem with it on my genitals; however, just rubbing it into my hand now I felt a slight stingy, prickly feeling.  My skin is super sensitive though, so for most people I don’t think it would be a problem.  It would be great if they found a way to make this lube without parabens, as it is great in most other regards. Also, because it does contain a small amount of silicone, be careful using it with silicone sex toys.  Again, I didn’t have a problem with mine as all my toys are superior silicone, but you may want to do a small patch test on the base of your toy to check it first.

Have you tried Sliquid Silk? I’m IN LOVE with these products. I have the worst problem with skin irritations, whether it’s shampoo on my head or shaving cream on my vulva. Sliquid is glycerin and paraben free and it’s vegan! I love it because there are only like 3 ingredients. It’s my new fav lube.
