Intimate Organics Body Souffle Review in Cocoabean and Goji Berry

I have used a few Intimate Organics products and absolutely love them.  However, while researching the ingredients in their Body Souffle in Cocoabean and Goji Berry, I became alarmed.  When I see a very long list of ingredients on a cosmetic product my spidey senses start to tingle.  Here is the list of ingredients in Intimate Organics Body Souffle Review in Cocoabean and Goji Berry.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Stearic acid, Glycerin, Isopropyl palmitate, Propylene glycol*, Glyceryl stearate, PEG-100 Stearate*, Aroma, Dimethicone, Olive oil, Triethanolamine*, Polysorbate 20*, Shea butter, Acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, Benzophenone 3*, Methylisothiazolinone* (and) Phenethyl Alcohol (and) PPG-2 Methyl Ether, Disodium EDTA, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, BHT*, Cyclomethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate*, Water (and) Alcohol (and) Certified Organic Lycium Barbbarm (Goji Berry) Fruit Extract (and Certified Organic Cymbopogon choenanthus (Lemon Grass) Leaf and Stem Extract (and) Certified Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Extract. May contain: CI 42090/Blue 1, CI 16035/Red 40, CI 19140/Yellow 5, CI 15985/Yellow 6, CI 17200/Red 33, CI60730/Ext. Violet 2*

All the ingredients marked with an asterick* had toxicity warnings of 4 or higher in the Cosmeticdatabase.com.  One ingredient: PEG-100 Stearate, had a toxicity level of 4-7 (very high) and is regulated in cosmetics warning not to be used on broken or damaged skin.  Studies found use in connection to Cancer, Developmental/reproductive toxicity and Irritation (skin, eyes, or lungs).

That is kind of scary for a product that markets itself as “organic”.  And, yes, Intimate Organics does use certified “organic” extracts including olive oil, shea butter, mango butter, and the Antioxidants goji berry and cocoa bean.  But, does that make it body-safe?  Unfortunately no.

For a company that promotes its use of “superior ingredients” that are a “safer and more natural choice” and “a healthier alternative to many of the mass produced synthetic products on the market today”, why put all these unnecessary, potentially toxic chemicals in their products?

I was prepared to tell you how much I love Intimate Organics Body Souffle Review in Cocoabean and Goji Berry (the “aroma” is to die for, literally), but because of the ingredients list I cannot.  Interesting enough, Intimate Organics has discontinued their Spa line and you can no longer get them from their website.  So, maybe this is why?

Intimate Organics says: “We believe in education. A customer is best able to make an educated and correct purchasing decision only when armed with true and valued information. Part of our core purpose is to provide that information as best as we can.”

So I will leave it up to you to decide whether or not you would use this product and still want to win it.  I can’t endorse it myself, but I am not a chemist either and can only go by what I read from chemical databases.

It does smell delicious, and is creamy smooth and moisturizing to the skin.  And, if I hadn’t looked at the ingredients list I would have been in love with this product.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit what I consider to be a body-safe product.

You can get other body-safe and green sex toys from Sextoy.com including rechargeable vibrators.  Also, Sextoy.com is also having a contest right now where you can win $250 worth of products of your choice.  So go check it out!  And, while you are there, get 20% off all purchases with the Coupon Code: SPRINGFEVER20PERCENT.
