BDSM Toy Review: Josephine Paddle

I first saw Josephine at an all-girl play party.  You could say it was love at first sight. The boldest of her strike, and the bite of her sting.  Her intricate curves and Celtic beauty.  Her supple flesh and darkly tanned hide.  What was there not to like?

Meet Josephine, a unique leather paddle with a swirling Celtic knot design, handmade by Canadian company Leatherbeaten, to pay homage to vintage carpet beaters.

The original carpet beater was “a housecleaning tool that was in common use until the vacuum cleaner became affordable during the early 20th century. Carpets, rugs, clothes, cushions, and bedding were hung over a clothesline or railing and the dust and dirt was beat out of them.”  Of course, the carpet beater also had more nefarious uses as well, that Leatherbeaten has made good use of.

Josephine is an intractably woven leather percussion implement, featuring a large Celtic knot paddle and twisted French Grapevine braid leather handle.  The twists of 5mm leather laces are mainly black with wine colored accents for contrast and the whole tool measures 10” in length and has a 3.75″ diameter.

While she may be pretty, don’t let Josephine fool you.  She delivers an exacting sting, with a bite in between thuddy (when used more softly) to venomous (when used with force).  Sharp blows hurt like hell.  If you are exacting with your blow, as you should be, Josephine leaves her intricate knot design on your bottom’s bottom.  A lovely Celtic welt of red against pale white skin.

Leatherbeaten is known for making quality handmade leather whips, floggers and paddles, and Josephine is of the highest quality.  Not only that, but she is very unique.  You won’t see this paddle available from too many places.

Luckily for you I found them at TrinityRomance.com, a savvy Canadian sex-positive sex toy retailer with an online shop.  Check them out and pick up your own Josephine paddle today!  Also, check out their blog for lots of cool articles.  They were also just interviewed by SexLifeCanada, so check that out to learn more about their shop!
