“Like A Queen” Erotic e-book Review

“Like a Queen” is an erotic story anthology e-book published by Circlet Press. The book is edited by Cecilia Tan and Rachel Kincaid. The book includes five stories by five different authors. It’s available in multiple formats, but I read it in a .pdf with no formatting problems. The book’s theme is focused around lesbian versions of “traditional” fairytales. The book is 77 pages long (in .pdf) and took me about an hour to read. Each story is about 12/14 pages long on average.

I actually was pretty fond of this erotic e-book. It’s long enough to keep your attention and feel worth the purchase without seeming so long that you’re ready to be done with it. After all, there’s only so many fairytales out there that you can make sexual versions of. I’m really happy to let you know that the versions included in this e-book are really unique. I’ve read some really boring versions where Cinderalla just has sex with someone at the ball, but no, these are actually really unique, and I really doubt I’ll ever read erotic stories quite like these again.

“Mirror” by Clarice Clique is the first story. This is a take on the classic “Snow White” story. This is probably my least liked story out of the book. I just felt like the language was too convoluted to really enjoy the sex or the story itself. It felt like one of those romance novels where the vagina is called “the forbidden fruit”. I’m going to try and not spoil any of the neat plotlines of the stories, but I’ll give you a basic idea. This is just your basic story of Snow White including sex with the witch and the seven dwarves.

The second story is “Queen’s Jewel” by A. D. R. Forte. This is a modern version of “The Princess and the Pea”. It’s actually really enjoyable to read, and it has a “surprise” ending that I wasn’t expecting. The neat thing about this story is that I didn’t even know what fairytale it was until the end of the story, so I was continually guessing.

The third story is “Gretel’s Dilemma” by Kaysee Renee Robichaud. This is a sexual version of Hansel and Gretel. In this one, Gretel is living with the evil witch while Hansel keeps causing a family feud and trying to “rescue” his sister. There’s only one sex scene (which takes place in a marshmallow bed), but it’s still a really cute take on the idea of Hansel and Gretel.

The fourth story is “After The Hunt” by Michael M. Jones which is a take off of some fairytale, but I’m not sure what the fairytale is. It’s a story where a King ends up bethrothed to two different princesses, but in the end, it turns out he’s gay and the princesses are lesbian anyways, so everything works out in the end. It’s a really neat story though that has just one, long sex scene towards the end. The plot was nice and involving though.

The fifth story is “The Stepmother’s Girl” by Quatre Grey which is your typical Cinderalla clone with a huge twist. It turns out that the Stepmother is into BDSM, so a lot of this story takes place with a Dominance/submissive type of sex set-up. There’s some mentioning of flogging, bondage, and blood though, so I’m just letting you know ahead of time. I honestly was really impressed with this take on the story because it was ridiculously unique though. I didn’t expect it at all.

Overall, it was neat to be able to read all of the different “takes” on traditional fairytales. Unlike another sexual fairytale book I’ve read, the stories in here were actually pretty erotic, and while still functioning as erotica, the erotic e-book also functions as an entertaining story.
