There are a few adult educational films about bondage/sex out there including Nina Hartley’s Guide to Erotic Bondage [my review] and Nina Hartley’s Guide to Bondage Sex [my review] both of which are good resources.  However, who better to teach a workshop in sensual bondage than bondage guru, the divine Midori?  I was lucky enough to go to a real workshop on bondage by Midori a couple years back and I can tell you she is amazing.  Her simple bondage skills are easy to learn (any five year old can tie their shoelaces!), and her emphasis on seduction, rather than technique, creates the perfect atmosphere for sexual bondage play.

So I was thrilled to receive for review Midori’s Expert Guide to Sensual Bondage (2009) from AdamEve.com to see if I could learn anything new from the Shibari Mistress.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker and sex expert Tristan Taormino, Midori’s Guide is geared towards couples exploring bondage to spice up their sex lives for the first time.  It doesn’t feature any rope bondage, but instead uses silk scarves from Midori’s Rope Dojo workshops and easy to use bondage restraints (wrist and ankle cuffs).  If you are a seasoned bondage enthusiast you many not find anything of educational value from the film, but the pleasure of watching Madison Young and Danny Wylde get it on is worth the price of admission.

Part One: Introduction with Midori

Midori begins by speaking conversationally to the camera audience to introduce them to sensual bondage.

“Some people like bondage because it gives them a chance to completely surrender to their partner… Some like something to struggle against…  Tying someone up of being bound, can build trust, deepen your connection, and best of all, make your orgasms hotter and more intense.”

Midori then goes into the Bondage Basics: including the importance of communication (Don’t spring it on your partner during sex), safety issues (like removing contacts when using blindfolds), and types of restraints that can be found around the house (scarves, stockings, bathrobe belts and men’s ties); all of which are good tips.

Part Two: The Lesson with Adrianna Nicole and Mark Davis

In scene two, Midori joins Adrianna and Mark in the bedroom and goes through a bondage lesson, teaching them various ways to transform your bed for bondage.  The tools include bungee cords, Under the Bed Restraints System, blindfolds, silk scarves and “ready-made” restraints such as ankle and wrists cuffs.  Mark binds the lovely and voluptuous Adrianna in several positions, and then Midori leaves them alone to practice “in private”, but still “pops in” once in a while to narrate tips over the scene.

Part Three:  Sex Bondage Scene with Adrianna Nicole and Mark Davis

Adrianna is hot.  She’s like a sweet little minx who looks up at Mark with bedroom eyes and purrs with delight.  She seems quite submissive and eager to enjoy Mark’s dominance over her.  Appearance-wise, Mark is not your typical porn stud.  However, his confidence, skill at lovemaking and dominance, and eagerness to pleasure his sultry victim is sexy as hell.  If I were a bottom, I’d say “do me!”

Part Four: Sex Bondage Switching with Madison Young and Danny Wylde

I am a huge fan of both Madison and Danny, who are perhaps two of the best performers in the adult industry when it comes to kinky sex.  I couldn’t wait to see a scene with them both together!  Holy fuck Batman!  As I watched the two make-out I simply forgot I was watching a film and felt that I had been magically transported to their bedroom (studio) like a fly in the house of lust.

Madison is hot.  There is nothing sexier than seeing Madison in her horned-rimmed glasses gazing up at Danny Wylde.  And, Danny’s bod is rock solid.  I love his strength and stamina and his ability to pick tiny Madison up and position her wherever he wants.

She does remove the shoes—someone else must have noticed—and sits on Danny face and makes him eat her out.  Finally, they switch again and Madison wields her Hitachi as Danny fucks her missionary.  They then use Midori’s modified scarf harness at hold the Hitachi in place as he fucks her from behind.  Danny ends by creaming on her sexy ass.

Conclusion

This film is awesome and one of the best educational bondage videos I’ve seen.  This is due to the erotic element of the scenes, the chemistry between the performers that  sizzles with authenticity and the foreplay (bondage) leading up to the sex gives the viewer time to get turned on too.  Sex to me is always a lot hotter when there is a slow build-up to it, with teasing, and a bit of dominance and submission, playing with each other.  While the guide doesn’t show a lot of different types of restraints ( no rope here), the scenes sensuality and variations with what they have is hot.  Nina Hartley’s Guide to Bondage Sex is better for learning techniques, but this film is super sexy and a great enticement for those wanting to explore bondage together for added enjoyment to their partnered sex play.
