Review of the Duet Vibrator by Crave

The Duet by Crave is a sleek, chic, amazing little vibrator that just recently launched on the market after a year of research, 1 proto-type, a slight redesign and a re-launch of the new and improved model, the Duet: Generation 2.

I don’t do many reviews any more, mainly because after 1000s of sex toys, you tend to become a bit jaded.  I now only review high quality toys and those that are unique or have something different to offer.

The Duet by Crave fits all of the above (high quality, unique and has something different to offer) and more.

So what is it?  The Duet is a vibrator that masquerades as a USB drive (the deluxe models can be purchased with up to 16GB storage).  It is a discreet clitoral vibe that is very uniquely designed, with two finger-like prongs that hug your clitoris to orgasm.  While there may be other “surround” type vibes on the market, none of them are quite like the Duet.

When I spoke to designer Ti Chang on the phone as she introduced the Duet to me, I was like, “Finally, a sex toy designer who really “gets” it!”  This two-finger design is the ultimate in clitoral stimulation.  Most women get off on one side of the clitoris or the other, so having the vibration target the sides of the clitoris (rather than directly on it, although you can use it that way), is very clever indeed.  It also shows me that the designers (Ti Chang and Michael Topolovac) also understand the female anatomy and orgasms in women.  They are not just jumping on the bandwagon and creating another creepy sex toy for women, without paying attention to how women get off.  Which makes sense, because Ti is also the designer of the Incognito Line of pleasure devices that are super cool, smart and chic.

At about 4 ½”, the nickel-free metal and silicone body sits in the palm of your hand.  It is whisper quiet, in fact Crave states on their website: “So quiet you could use it in a library”, which is very true.  I was very impressed with how quiet it is actually, as I could barely hear it.  Yet, it is incredibly powerful for a small clitoral vibe.  This is one area that I spoke to Ti about in great detail, telling her that while I love many designer vibrators, I always find they come short when it comes to power. Ti told me about the “Turbo Mode”, basically after you dial up the 3 speeds in steady vibrator mode, you press the “+” button for 3 seconds, and then this baby really takes off!  And, it is powerful.

Also, unlike other small clitoral vibes, the vibrations are deep and “rumbly” rather than “buzzy” which is much more orgasm inducing.  The Duet has four different patterns: steady, wave, dual pulsing and osculating, as well as three power modes, plus the Turbo Mode in steady.

And, while that’s all well and good, did it get me off?  Why, thanks for asking, yes it did.  Within a few minutes in fact, I had an extremely powerful orgasm.  Then I waited a few moments and went for it again and had an even better one.  I actually have been a bit infatuated with this little vibe for about a week and have used it every night.

But, not only is the Duet itself awesome: the design, the dual motors, the power, the comfortable clitoral hugging tips, waterproof up to 100ft, and the ability to recharge via a USB port, even the packaging of this product is amazing.  Very simple, elegant and ensures the least waste as the package itself has start up instructions on it, plus the Duet can be stored in a chic leather pouch which comes with the toy.  Also, this product is made in the USA, which says a lot about the quality of the product and it comes with a one year warranty.  Oh, and before I forget, you can also have the metal part of this toy engraved, for a gift for your lover.  Very sexy.  Mine says “Domina” naturally!

The Duet has a lot of amazing features, more than I could put in this review without rambling on forever.  It is my favorite vibrator to date, which says a lot after reviewing 2000+ vibrators from designer, to gadgets, to ugly bunnies.  This vibrator is elegant, stylish, powerful and made just right to rev the clitoris to orgasm.  Finally, a sex toy company that gets women’s pleasure!
