Monsieur Dubois Wooden Dildo Review

Every once in a while, a product comes across my desk that blows my mind (in a very good way).  The Wooden Dildo by Monsieur Dubois is just one of those sex toys.  Hand-made in the Gaspé of Quebec, Canada, this extraordinary wooden dildo is of the highest quality and craftsmanship.  It is simply outstanding!

M. Dubois, inspired by nature and the origins of the objects of pleasure (the world’s oldest dildo is made of a stag’s antler), is the creator of these beautiful phallic objets d’art.  A cabinetmaker and designer by trade, Dubois chooses only the best quality hardwoods grown naturally and locally from FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) forests in Quebec: Birch, Cherry, Walnut and Maple.

While the shape of each dildo is consistent, each hardwood dildo is lovingly carved and smoothed by hand, unique with exquisite grains and polished to an ultra smooth finish.  The dildos are then coated five times with a Polyurethane acrylic to give them a hard, abrasion and water-resistant, durable glass-like coating, with no risk of deterioration under normal conditions and use.  In other words, fine for your vagina, the coating will withstand moisture, is body-safe and will not hold bacteria.  Simply wash after use with mild soap and water and pat dry with a soft cloth.

These dildos are not only beautiful to look at and hold, but are also perfectly designed for pleasurable penetration as an instrument of ecstasy. The dildos feature a phallic head to aid in penetration, with three pleasure swells upon the shaft, giving them a distinctly feminine curved silhouette.  Measuring 9.5” in length and 1.75” diameter, this dildo has enough length and girth to satisfy most.

Special Edition

The dildo I received is a special edition, made of Birdseye Maple—one of the rarest woods with a distinctive pattern of swirling eyes amid smooth lines of grain. M. Dubios explains on their website that “Birdseye Maple is not a variety or species of Maple, but rather a phenomenon that occurs within several kinds of timber due to an unknown cause.”  It is found most abundant around the North American Great Lakes, close to Quebec. Prized by woodworkers worldwide, Birdseye is extremely valuable and usually several times the cost of regular hardwood.

Beautifully Packaged

I was not only blown away by the dildo itself, which is admirable, but also the packaging.  The dildo arrives in a gorgeous hardwood jewel-box for safe keeping, also beautifully crafted.  Both the dildo and the box feature the M. DuBois signature embossed with a handwritten script, making this piece a “signature” luxury object.  Also included is a soft padded satin pouch to keep your hardwood dildo in.

As an added bonus, each hardwood Monsieur Dubois piece comes with handmade wooden “love dice” with lover’s in various Kama Sutra positions, for a special added touch.  Love these little dice!  Very cool.
