I love to try new products from companies I have never tried. So when Lust Cosmetics (made in Canada-eh?) contacted me to try out some of their products, I was happy to oblige. Always eager to promote fellow Canadians! My initial email from Lady Lust said “Lust for Double O and Liquid Lust” were their best sellers, and those were the products I thought I was getting for review. I did get the “Lust for Double O” but the other two products I got were “Lust for Love” flavored edible warming massage oils and not “Liquid Lust” which is an Arousal Mist for the genitals.
I guess it is important that both the reviewer and manufacturer are on the same page when it comes to reviewing products, because I would have never chosen “flavored” products for myself, as 99% of the time, I don’t like them. And, I prefer to review products I will enjoy, rather than those that I do not. So, with that in mind, here are my reviews.
Lust for Love
I received two bottles of “Lust for Love” flavored edible warming massage oils in Hot Caramel Cravings and Wanton Watermelon. I don’t like anything that is flavored caramel or butterscotch and didn’t like this, for obvious reasons. Very sweet and sticky. The Watermelon was slightly better, but both tasted artificial to me, and for massage lotions they were sticky and left my skin feeling tacky as if I had spilled syrup on it. They did warm very well and they are made with 100% natural ingredients, which is a big bonus, although they both contain glycerin (aka sugar) which is the main ingredient and is probably why they were too sweet and sticky. They are packaged in easy to use pump dispensers so another bonus. For people with a sweet tooth, they may really enjoy these products. If someone would like to try two barely used samples, let me know and I’ll send them along.
Lust for Double O
Lust for Double O is Lust Cosmetics best selling item. It is a stimulating balm that is used to heighten sensation for the vulva and clitoris, but men can also use it as well on their genitals. I really love the packaging of this product: clear plastic (that looks like glass) in a round, short tub with a screw off cap. It is very elegant looking and reminds me of a perfume balm container. Actually, I thought it might be a perfume, as it a hard compact cream with a slight floral/herbal, yet minty fragrance and taste. Luckily, Lust’s products are all edible. It tingles and cools immediately on the tongue, so you can imagine what it will do to you clitoris. It cools, warms and tingles right away and is very powerful. I would suggest using it sparingly, until you decide whether you like the sensation first. I’m not sure if it heightened my arousal, but it did make me very aware of my genitals and the sensation was interesting. I usually prefer a warming/stimulating clitoral balm over a cooling balm, but this was not uncomfortable nor burning in any way, like some other arousal gels I have used in the past.
I do like this product and will try it again in different situations during sex and masturbation. I think it would be a good prolonging product for men, so I’ll get my partner to try it as well. The active ingredients in this product are Menthol, Ginseng, Peppermint, with various oils: Sweet almond oil, Borage Seed Oil, Coconut oil, Beeswax, Shea butter, Lecithin, as well as Aroma and preservatives. One nit-pick with this product is that the description is rather evasive and doesn’t exactly tell you what the product is for or come with directions for use. As, I said when I opened it I thought it was a pheromone fragrance, so a more useful description and instructions would be helpful.
Lust Cosmetics is a great brand and has a small line of interesting products. I like that they use only all natural, high quality, hormone free ingredients. I also support buying local (aka North America) so because they are in Canada that is a plus for me. I would have liked to try their Liquid Lust, so maybe I will get a chance sometime.
