Kama Sutra Intensifying Gel-Warming
I have used several warming/stimulating products in the past including: ID Sensation Warming Liquid, ID Pleasure, Climax Bursts Warming Lubricant [my review], as well as O’MY O’ Clitoral Stimulating Gel [my review] (both variations with and without L’Arginine). I am also very familiar with a wide range of Kama Sutra products. Having used their Oil of Love (love them), and also their Spearmint Stimulating Pleasure Balm which burned me, I was both cautious and interested in trying Kama Sutra’s Intensifying Gel (Warming).
With any of these products I always carefully read the instructions and the ingredients. This product boasts “a unique formulation of nature’s most proven sexually enhancing herbal stimulants… [that is] water-based, latex safe, dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, [and] stain-free.”
Here is a break down of the ingredients:
- Propylene Glycol– A faintly sweet organic compound used as a moisturizer in medicines, cosmetics, food, toothpaste, mouth wash, and as a solvent for food colors and flavorings. May cause irritation on skin, as well as gastrointestinal irritation if ingested.
- Glycerol is a chemical compound also commonly called glycerin or glycerine and used in pharmaceutical formulations. It is a sugar.
- Sucrose– Sugar
- Polysorbate 80– An emulsifier used in ice cream to prevent milk proteins from coating the fat droplets.
- Methyl Salicylate– Oil of Wintergreen. A natural menthol product.
- Citrus Aurantium Dulcis- Orange Oil, an organic essential oil that is said to improve circulation.
- Cinnamal– A yellow liquid with a strong, sweet, balsamic odor. It occurs naturally in essential oils such as Cinnamon and is said to improve energy, vitality, and circulation.
- Arginine– A common amino acid. L-arginine is used to make the nitric oxide, a compound in the body that relaxes blood vessels. Preliminary studies have found that L-arginine may help with conditions that improve when blood vessels are relaxed such as, erectile dysfunction in creasing blood flow. People with genital herpes should not take L-arginine because it may aggravate their symptoms.
- Ornithine– Another amino acid produced naturally in the body. Used in conjunction with L-arginine.
- Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract– Traditionally used by Native Americans to promote strength, Saw Palmetto berries have become one of the principal natural choices in the treatment of an enlarged prostrate and are believed to be an aphrodisiac.
- Turnera Diffusa Leaf Extract– From a small shrub with aromatic leaves whose use is as an aphrodisiac and is associated with improving sexual function in both males and females.
- Arnica Montana– Known as Wolf’s Bane, is currently used in liniment and ointment and have been clinically shown to be effective vasodilators by facilitating transport of blood through a dilating action of subcutaneous blood capillaries.
- Sodium Benzoate– Is a preservative used in acidic foods such as salad dressings (vinegar), carbonated drinks (carbonic acid), and jams and fruit juices (citric acid).
- Sodium Saccharin– Used as an artificial sweetener.
- Methylparaben– A preservative (found naturally in blueberries) used in cosmetics. Can cause irritation in people who are allergic to parabens.
I was very curious about trying Kama Sutra’s Intensifying Gel (Warming) because it contained Arginine which dilates blood vessels. It used to be one of the main ingredients in O’My O’ Clitoral Gel (which I used to love), but they removed it because people with herpes are prone to break-outs with it. I never found that the new and improved formulation was ever as good as the first. I was pleased to see that Kama Sutra warns people not to use this product if prone to herpes breakouts. The instructions say to apply a small amount to the clitoris and rub in, then reapply if necessary.
I didn’t really feel anything initially, so I applied more as directed. Again, perhaps a slight warming, but that could have been me rubbing my clitoris. A bit disappointing. But, I wanted to be fair to this product, and know from past experience that some products like this work best over a few days, reapplying daily. So I tried it three days in a row and there were no effects that I could feel.
I have read other reviews that this product did work well for other people. Everyone is different and so are their genitals (Thanks Goodness!), so while it didn’t work for me, it may work for you. I find clitoral stimulating balms are very subjective, so it is good to try a few and see what works best for you. My favorites are ID Sensation Warming Liquid and Kama Sutra’s Original Oil of Love that both warms and is delicious!
