Impulse Hyper Sonic Wand

I am always on the look-out for a smaller wand-style vibrator that has a lot of power, yet doesn’t plug in.  I love the Hitachi and other large plug-ins vibes, but I ultimately find them a pain in the ass to bother trying to find a plug just to get off.  I like to be able to go anywhere I want with my vibe, but usually that comes with a price (not enough power).

So, the Impulse Hyper Sonic Wand looked like it may be the ideal vibe that was in between my Hitachi and my Pocket Rocket Plus.  I ripped open the package as soon as I got it eager to try it out.  I get tones of sex toys and vibes all the time, so being this eager about a toy is somewhat unusual for me.

The Impulse Hyper Sonic Wand comes in a cardboard box, fairly discreet package (no nudes) and not superfluous in packaging.  The back of the box details the toys features.  These include 10 levels of vibration speed, plus 5 “HyperSonic” functions of vibrations with escalation and various “progressive patterns of acceleration”.  It is very space-age looking featuring a control panel handle with a long flexible shaft at the end of which is a bullet-shaped head that vibrates.  It also comes with a “silicone” sleeve, but it is a weird jelly looking sea creature thing, so I didn’t try it.

So, cool, I’m psyched up and ready to take this baby for a spin, buzz or escalating ride.  I open the battery compartment and it takes 3 AAA batteries (not included).  Okay.  Now I have a problem.  I search all over the house and can only find two AAA batteries and they are pretty weak and old.  So I hop into the Jeep and run up to the store.  I live in the country and my store is a lame country store with barely any products.  They don’t carry AAA batteries.  Arghhh!  So I fly back home and try to figure out plan B.

I steal some old batteries out of my TV remote and I am once again ready to go.  Only problem is, these batteries are old, so the power I am hoping for doesn’t come through in the vibe.  Still, I play with it for a bit, wear down my TV remote batteries even more, check out the different speeds and patterns and finish with an orgasm that isn’t very satisfactory because I’m afraid my batteries will run out mid-peak so I push a quick “O” through that is comparable with a quick sneeze.  A-choo!  Okay, maybe not that powerful actually.  And, now my TV remote is dead too.

The manufacturer’s claim that “The Impulse^TM Hypersonic Wand is a scientific breakthrough in sensual stimulation, combining the art of Shiatsu massage with state-of-the-art hypersonic vibration to lift you into an entirely erotic realm!”  Sounds great, but really?!  I don’t know where they get the Shiatsu massage thing because it feels like a vibrator and what exactly makes it hypersonic?  What is hypersonic?  According to Wiki hypersonic are speeds faster than supersonic, or speeds faster than Mack 5 (5 times greater the speed of sound) which I doubt this vibrator qualifies as.

Okay, 3 brand new AAA batteries!  Yah!  I take this vibe for a second ride and, okay maybe it is Supersonic!  Well, it has a hell of a lot of power, that is for sure.  It might not be the Hitachi, but for a small wand vibe, this thing really does rock.  Okay, I’m convinced.  Supersonic or not, this vibrator is the most powerful vibrator I have tried next to a plug-in vibe, which is saying alot.  You want speed and power?  This vibe is an orgasmic delight (and much better than a sneeze!).

Moral of the Story:  Don’t forget to keep extra batteries in case of emergencies.
