I bought “Two Knotty Boys Showing You the Ropes” over a year ago, when I was working at the EverythingToDoWithSex Show as a quick guide for doing a few bondage demos and learning some rope tricks. I have been meaning to review it ever since. During my demo I did a very cool tie called the DragonFly Sleeve, which looks fairly complicated, but is actually very simple once you learn how. “Two Knotty Boys Showing You the Ropes” gives you step-by-step instructions on how to do this tie and many others in their excellent book. Here is a video demo of the same tie by them on YouTube.com.
So, who are Two Knotty Boys? They are Dan and JD, a couple of knotty boys who first began teaching interactive rope bondage workshops in 1999 in the Bay Area whose goal is to demystify rope bondage and to provide instruction for safe, functional and esthetically pleasing ties for the bedroom or beyond! They are excellent teachers in this book!
“Two Knotty Boys Showing You the Ropes” is the best book I have found so far on sophisticated bondage ties, but even if you are a beginner, you can still learn everything you need to know with this book. It contains thirty-seven different ties, and is excellently illustrated with easy to figure out photos showing you the steps to each tie.
The book has six sections including: Introduction, The Knots, Basic Bondage, Decorative Bondage, Dominance Bondage, and Sex Bondage. Each chapter goes into various subjects such as safety, types of rope, types of knots, basic bondage tools and ties, more elaborate ties, harnesses for dominance bondage, and bondage positions that facilitate sex.
I also have Midori’s “The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage” as well, and while I love this book, “Two Knotty Boys Showing You the Ropes” is much better at illustrating how to do these beautiful ties easily. Whether you are a beginner or an aspiring expert I highly recommend “Two Knotty Boys Showing You the Ropes” which is available via Amazon.com.
I’m a beginner with rope and this book is brilliant. Clear and easy to understand with plenty of simple yet beautiful knots.

Holden. I totally I agree. I learned more from this book that any other bondage book I have, and yes, I do have the Boy Scouts knot book too! LOL!
